The earth is shrinking. The world is considered as one large city. Trade, travel and tourism have never been more easier. All this has been facilitated by the advent of globalization. Medical tourism is gaining popularity for the simple fact that the third world countries are able to offer facilities which are on par or if not better than those presented in the developed world. In India, there has never been a dearth of talented physicians right from the days of Shusrutha ( 1000BC ) to modern India.

Presently the medical fraternity and the more liberalized governance have allowed doctors to train and procure state-of-the-art instruments and equipment necessary to practice modern medicine and India is not far behind in presenting her credentials.

Chennai is one of the health care hubs of India. Chennai ( formerly called Madras) has always been in the forefront of medical care. Patients from all over India beeline to Chennai for their ailments.
