Presently Dr. P.R.Mitra is involved in providing BASIC and ADVANCED PHACO TRAINING for ophthalmic surgeons from India and abroad. Going one on one makes the waiting list long, but then one is not given the conventional textbook teaching. "I prefer to leave alone the fancy names and techniques and rather concentrate on seeing a job well done. And should another ophthalmologist see the patient next day, he or she should appreciate your handiwork." Dr. Mitra quips.

International trainees have come from England, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Iran, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, China and the USA. Indian trainees came from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka , Kerala, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Haryana, Assam, West Bengal and Delhi.
